This Weekend…
There’s some good stuff going on this weekend in San Diego…
Cultivating Food Justice
Food Justice means: Everyone must have access to safe, nutritious, and culturally-appropriate food in sufficient quantity and quality to sustain a healthy life with full human dignity.
Hands-on workshops and discussions to empower local communities to build sustainable and affordable food systems that maximize self-reliance and social justice. Plus… free food, kid’s activities, entertainment and more! Organized by an an all volunteer collaborative.

The AjA Project
The AjA Projects sister program in Mae La Oon Refugee Camp, Record of Truth, Thailand, has been facilitating a variety of workshops and programming with Karen refugees, displaced from their homeland in Karen State, Burma and currently living in a UNHCR temporary shelter area since 2001.
Together, with the recently founded Karen Baptist Church, we are hosting a small event, intended to expose and educate non-Karen community members whose lives may intersect with the Karen community at many different points, as well as strengthen the voice and identity of the Karen community itself.

Loved this. Always looking for interesting events to engage in. If we could make this a weekly thing I think it would be extremely valuable.

That’s a good idea, James! Are you volunteering?

Ha! I’m always the last to know about things. Too much time working on stuff halfway around the world!
